Tesla vehicles and showrooms in cities like New York, Kansas City, and Seattle have been hit by vandalism and arson, prompting FBI and ATF investigations. These attacks, ranging from smashed windows to firebombed Cybertrucks, coincide with Representative Jasmine Crockett’s (D-TX) controversial call to “take down” Elon Musk and Tesla as a birthday wish, fueling debates over her intent. Public reaction splits sharply; some decry the violence, while others cheer it as resistance to Musk’s growing political sway, notably his role in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency.
These aren’t mere protests, they are acts of terrorism, plain and simple. Targeting private property with fire and destruction to send a political message fits the textbook definition of domestic terrorism, and the FBI’s involvement proves the stakes. Crockett’s reckless rhetoric, whether literal or not, only fans the flames. Law enforcement must treat these crimes with the severity they deserve with full prosecution. Anything less risks normalizing chaos over discourse.
