Part of what I do is keeping up with podcasts from the major news outlets. In doing so,I listened to the Tucker Carlson Podcast from 12/16/24. The guest was Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, a Harvard Philosopher. Tucker Carlson has again put himself in close association with Anti-Israel and Anti-Semitic people. He has had these guests on his platform and does not fact check them or ask for a qualified response. In my opinion Carlson's lack of response, or fact-checking, is supportive of his guest’s point of view. He is the boss of his own media presence and chooses his guests and the media that he publishes. For me, I have concluded that Tucker Carlson has radical and disparaging beliefs about Israel and the Jewish People. After engaging in a comprehensive study of Tucker Carlson's history, I conclude he is no friend of Israel or Jews in general. His views seem to be slanderous and hateful. I, for one, am extremely disappointed.
• Dr. Sachs pitches alternative reality theories on the internet. He is the internet's version of a “shock jock”. He will do anything to garner attention. It’s working out very well for him as he has a successful and popular media presence. Sachs has made some very disparaging accusations about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Dr. Sachs claimed that Israel, and Netanyahu in particular, have planned for over thirty years to expand its borders and rule over the entire Middle East. He asserts that the USA has backed Israel in this endeavor and have supplied Israel’s military accordingly. Israel has traded land for peace many times. If Israel was interested in conquering the world they would not have traded land for peace with Egypt, in which Israel gave up a huge swath of land to Egypt, the Sinai Peninsula. There are trillions of US dollars’ worth of resources in the Sinai Peninsula. Israel's economy would be much stronger if they had kept the Sinai. For the most part, Egypt has held up their end of the peace treaty. Israel did this deal because they value life and want peace, as opposed to the terrorists wanting war and terrorism. Israel has also given up land for peace in the West Bank. The Palestinians have not held to their end of the deal, to say the least. Israel gave them the entire Gaza Strip, and they have done nothing but destroy and attack. Sachs asserts that Israel does not want a Two-State Solution because they want to divide and conquer the entire Middle East. Israel has opposed giving the Palestinians their own state because it would be very dangerous having a radical Islamic terrorist state on Israel's border. The Palestinians demand East Jerusalem, which is the center of history for all three major religions and has been Israel's Capital since the days of King David. Radical Islamic terrorists have proven that they will destroy all populations whose religion differs from their own. A large part of Islamic society has radicalized the Koran. Sachs's accusations of Israel and the USA’s agenda for world dominance was not fact-checked by Tucker Carlson in the slightest. He oversees his media format and decides to publish his interview with Dr. Sachs. In my opinion, Tucker is guilty by association. (A link to the Podcast is listed below.)
• Tucker Carlson has collaborated with Candace Owen on many media projects. Candace Owens spews anti-Semitic points of view on her media platform many times. Carlson has never held Owens up to any correction or clarification. This too is a classic case of guilt by association.
• Tucker Carlson has frequently criticized George Soros, a Jewish billionaire and philanthropist, as part of what he calls a “globalist elite” undermining American values. While criticism of Soros is not inherently anti-Semitic, Soros has become a central figure in many conspiracy theories that attribute undue power and influence to him; claims often seen as rooted in anti-Semitic tropes about how Jew's control over the media, banks, governments, and global events.
• Critics argue that Carlson is mainstreaming a dangerous ideology that has inspired violent attacks, such as the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting and the 2019 Christ Church Mosque shooting.• Criticism from Jewish organizations: Groups like the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called on Fox News to address Carlson’s rhetoric, citing its harmful alignment with anti-Semitic themes, when Carlson was still employed by them. I have heard on more than one occasion that Carlson's dismissal from FOX News was due to his anti-Semitic points of view.
• Replacement Theory: Carlson has repeatedly promoted the “Great Replacement Theory". That is the idea that elites are encouraging immigration to replace native-born populations. This theory has anti-Semitic roots, as it often implicates Jewish people as the orchestrators of this supposed demographic shift.
• Speaking on the debut of his new Twitter-based show on 6/23/2023, Carlson accused Ukraine of being responsible for destroying the Russian-controlled Kakhovka Dam. In doing so, Carlson also criticized the character and appearance of President Zelensky, who is Jewish, using what are widely regarded as anti-Semitic tropes. Carlson said of Zelensky, “sweaty and rat-like, a comedian turned oligarch, a persecutor of Christians, a friend of BlackRock". The founder and CEO of the investment company BlackRock, Larry Fink, is Jewish. Carlson also added that Zelensky was “shifty” and “dead eyed.”B’nai B’rith International told The Algemeiner Wednesday that Carlson “is recklessly trafficking here in anti-Semitic tropes. “These kinds of charged polemics only feed negative perceptions of Jews and add to a climate of bigotry,” B’nai B’rith asserted.Carlson’s video has racked up more than 80 million views. The Ukrainian Embassy in Washington declined to comment on Carlson’s monologue, telling The Algemeiner that they did not want to give Carlson “any credibility to talk about Ukraine, its president, or it's people.”Response to Criticism: Carlson has consistently denied harboring anti-Semitic views, framing the criticism as politically motivated attempts to silence him. Some of his defenders also point to Carlson’s interviews and favorable discussions with Jewish public figures as evidence that he is not an anti-Semite. Those who defend him believe that he has been unfairly targeted and that his critiques are about political or cultural issues, not about any specific religious or ethnic group.
I conclude after a very careful investigation that Carlson’s rhetoric echoes and legitimizes anti-Semitic tropes, even if he does not explicitly express anti-Semitic beliefs. He doesn’t challenge his guests when they spit out false accusations and negative generalizations of the Jewish People. In all of my research,I have not found one instance of Carlson saying anything positive about Israel or the Jewish People.
